Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has rejoined the Udinese squad after serving a two-month suspension for betting-related offences.
Udinese Group Technical Director, Nani, confirmed the 26-year-old’s return, saying his comeback will boost the team ahead of their next Serie A match.
“We welcome Maduka back,” Nani told Messaggero Veneto, as quoted by Tuttoudinese.
Okoye joined Udinese in the summer of 2023 and quickly became the club’s first-choice goalkeeper before his suspension. Prior to his move to Italy, he played for Watford in England.
Nani, however, made it clear that the final decision on whether Okoye returns to his starting role rests with the team’s manager.
“The choices are up to the coach, who has maximum freedom,” he added.
Udinese will face Cremonese in their next Serie A fixture on Monday, 20 October.
