OnePlus has officially revealed OxygenOS 16, its version of Android 16, packed with new AI tools, customization upgrades, and smoother performance.
The biggest update comes to Mind Space, which now works hand in hand with Google’s Gemini AI Assistant. Earlier, Mind Space could only save screenshots for analysis, but with OxygenOS 16, users can now store long screenshots and record 60-second voice memos. Gemini can then use this data to perform tasks like creating personalized travel plans based on saved hotels and flight details.
The update also adds new lock screen customizations, echoing Apple’s iOS 16 design freedom. Connectivity has been boosted, too; users can now share photos between OnePlus[1] and iPhone[2], sync notifications with Apple Watch, and control Macs or Windows PCs through the O Plus Connect app.
According to the source[3], OxygenOS 16 also gets smoother animations and a sleek Optical Light effect inspired by Apple’s Liquid Glass. Most of these upgrades mirror Oppo’s ColorOS 16, which launched today alongside the Find X9 series.
The open beta begins October 17, with the stable version arriving first on the OnePlus 15, followed by older models.
