Black River Technical College’s (BRTC) fall enrollment is slightly down, but the number of first-time freshmen is slightly up, according to numbers released by the college.
The total head count for the semester is 1,629 students, a less than 1% drop from the previous fall.
BRTC welcomed 253 first-time freshmen, a 2% increase from last year.
The Career and Technical Center (CTC) had a 12.6% increase. About 15,377 total student semester credit hours have been applied.
“Each year, BRTC adapts to changing demographics while staying laser-focused on building opportunity for students,” said Jason Smith, Vice President of Student Affairs. “The growth in new freshmen and the significant increase in CTC enrollment show the confidence families place in BRTC to prepare students for the future.”
In total, BRTC serves nearly 5,000 individual students each academic year across credit-bearing courses, GED programs, and non-credit workforce training. An estimated 771 high school students are enrolled in concurrent credit and CTC programs.
