Let’s All Shave Our Jawlines and Not Tell Daisy refers to a series of memes[1] based on and referencing a viral tweet by X user @MONOMAMl where they share a screenshot of Princess Peach, Rosalina[2], Daisy and Pauline on the character select screen in Super Mario Party[3] under the caption, “Lets all shave our jawlines and not tell Daisy,” highlighting how much rounder Daisy’s face is than the other women’s. The post was made in November 2024 and garnered viral spread over the following years, inspiring referential memes that use similar phrasing and joke about Daisy being excluded by the other women from the Super Mario. Bros. franchise. In the context of the original post, shaving the jawline refers to getting plastic surgery to reshape the jaw, not shaving hair off of their faces.
Origin
On November 17th, 2024, X user @MONOMAMl quoted a post reading, “why did rosalina outmug everyone here,” referring to an image of Peach, Daisy, Rosalina and Pauline in the Super Mario Party character select screen, where Daisy’s face appears rounder than the other women. The X user writes, “Lets all shave our jawlines and not tell Daisy,” garnering over 86,000 likes and 3,900 reposts in 11 months.

Spread
The post gained viral spread over the following months, inspiring memes referring to and based off of it.
On March 19th, 2025, X user @galindaism posted a screenshot of the tweet, writing, “Every time i go through my twitter folder and see this i laugh uncontrollably,” garnering over 221,000 likes in seven months.
In April, the tweet was shared in an article by The Tab titled, “Pauline ‘botched’, Rosalina skint: The Mario Kart girlies have gone viral and and caused chaos.” On April 2nd, X user @supreili posted, “let’s both get ffs and not tell daisy” over a Mario Kart World screenshot, gaining over 1,200 likes in six months. The tweet refers to “facial feminization surgery.”
On April 23rd, the original tweet was posted to the /r/PeterExplainsTheJoke subreddit, garnering over 1,200 upvotes in six months.

On September 11th, X user @Zhane_Star reposted a video of several of Nintendo’s most well-known women characters, excluding Daisy, spinning, writing, “let’s spin in a circle and not tell daisy,” garnering over 3,200 likes in a month.

On October 9th, X user @misterduby posted Halloween-themed images of Peach, Rosalina, Pauline and Daisy, with all the women except Daisy dressed as witches, writing, “Let’s all go as witches and not tell Daisy,” garnering over 3,700 likes in a day.
