Karachi’s Matric Board is facing serious allegations after multiple female officers accused the board’s former secretary of workplace harassment. The complaints, submitted in writing to the Chairman, have triggered a formal investigation under the Harassment at Workplace Act.

According to board sources, several women filed complaints outlining incidents of misconduct. They also submitted voice recordings and phone call recordings as evidence. These recordings reportedly support their claims of being pressured into unwanted personal relations.

Chairman of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK[1]), Ghulam Hussain Sohoo, responded swiftly. He issued a letter ordering an inquiry into the allegations. An official inquiry committee has now been formed to investigate the matter in detail.

Acting Controller of Examinations, Hamzo Khan Tagar, has been appointed as the inquiry officer. A female principal of a higher secondary school has also joined the committee to ensure transparency. Board insiders revealed that the letter included evidence of power being misused to harass women at the workplace.

The complainants have demanded strict departmental action against the former secretary. The inquiry committee has already begun its proceedings to uncover the facts and recommend appropriate action. This case has raised serious concerns about workplace ethics and accountability within Karachi’s education boards.
