The Punjab government has announced that all public and private schools and colleges across the province will remain open on Monday, October 13, 2025, following a thorough assessment of the overall security situation. The decision brings clarity after widespread rumors suggested a province-wide closure.

According to a statement from the Punjab Education Department, all educational institutions in the province will operate as per their normal schedules. Officials confirmed that no blanket shutdown has been ordered, and academic activities will continue in all districts under standard conditions.

However, an exception has been made for Jhelum district, where the local administration has directed the temporary closure of all schools and colleges for one day on October 13. The District Education Authority Jhelum stated that the precautionary move was taken due to local law and order concerns to ensure the safety of students and staff.

School and college heads in Jhelum have been instructed to notify parents, teachers, and students about the closure and to resume normal classes from Tuesday, October 14, unless advised otherwise.

Meanwhile, across the rest of Punjab, schools and colleges have been directed to maintain strict security measures and coordinate closely with local law enforcement to ensure a safe and uninterrupted learning environment.

Education officials reiterated that any further decisions regarding closures will be based on local conditions and official assessments by district authorities.
