The Collective[1], an upscale restaurant and bar, recently opened at 216 W. Dickson St. in Fayetteville. The establishment is a collaboration between brothers Don and William Ray and Little Rock restaurateur Chris Tanner.

The Collective serves dinner from 5-10 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday. Lunch and weekend brunch are expected to be offered in the coming months, according to a news release.

The menu was created by Tanner and his staff at Samantha’s Tap Room & Wood Grill, The Oyster Bar and Cheers in the Heights. Menu items include seared Chilean sea bass with Argentine chimichurri, shrimp de Jonghe with dry sherry and tarragon, prime rib French dip sandwiches and starters like wild mushroom flatbread.

“Our goal was to craft a place where Fayetteville locals and visitors can gather over food that’s thoughtful but approachable,” Don Ray said. “Chris and his team brought the expertise and creativity to make that happen.”

The Collective is adjacent to Ben’s Apartment, a members-only 1920s-inspired speakeasy. “Ben’s offers exclusive tables, private wine club access, curated tastings, and priority reservations for The Collective,” the release shows. Ben’s has a 200-member limit and was established about 10 years ago. It has more than 100 members, including University of Arkansas coaches, a spokeswoman said.

The Collective and Ben’s Apartment comprise about 6,000 square feet. The Collective has 21 staff.

According to the release, guests can enjoy the full menu at the bar side of The Collective and at Ben’s. The drink menu includes cocktails such as the Espresso Martini, made with house-made coffee liqueur, and the Passion Flower, featuring passion fruit liqueur, lemon and lime.

The bar side of the restaurant will have live acoustic music. A raw bar will soon become available to expand on the restaurant’s seafood offerings.
