Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Heartland FC, has issued a strongly worded disclaimer distancing itself from its former General Manager, Promise Uchenna Nwachukwu, warning individuals, football bodies, and organisations against conducting any official business with him.

In a statement released by the club’s management, Heartland FC made it clear that Nwachukwu no longer has any ties with the club and is not authorised to represent them in any capacity.

“The management of Heartland Football Club wishes to categorically inform the general public and all relevant football stakeholders, including but not limited to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), that Mr. Promise Uchenna Nwachukwu, former General Manager of Heartland FC, no longer has any affiliation with the club in any capacity,” the statement read.

The club further stated that Nwachukwu’s association with Heartland FC ended in July 2024, adding that it had become necessary to clarify his status following recent developments.

“Mr. Nwachukwu is not authorised to represent Heartland FC in any official or unofficial matters, nor is he permitted to act, speak, or transact on behalf of the club. Any individual, organisation, or football governing body that engages or transacts with him under the impression that he represents Heartland FC does so entirely at their own risk,” the statement added.

The management also stressed that the club would not be held responsible for any agreements, representations, or commitments made by the former official.

“Heartland FC will not be held responsible or liable for any agreements, representations, or commitments made by Mr. Nwachukwu or any person or body dealing with him under such assumptions. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we continue to reposition Heartland FC for professionalism and integrity,” the club concluded.

Heartland FC, who were relegated from the Nigeria Premier Football League at the end of last season, are currently focused on restructuring ahead of their NNL campaign.
