
The Punjab government’s Global IT Certification Programme, launched in September 2024, has seen an impressive response with over 12,420 applications from youth across the province, according to the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). The initiative aims to equip young professionals with internationally recognized digital skills to boost employability in the global tech market.
The programme offers full fee reimbursements to candidates who successfully complete certifications from top global technology firms, helping bridge the digital skills gap in Pakistan.

During a review meeting chaired by PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf, officials highlighted the growing success of the initiative. He stated,
“This programme empowers our youth with global IT credentials while the Punjab government ensures financial support through fee reimbursements.”
The meeting also included DG e-Governance Sajid Latif and Skills Development Wing Director Chaudhary Ahmad Islam, who discussed strategies to expand participation and streamline the reimbursement process.
