The Sindh government has announced plans to establish Information Technology (IT) colleges in all 30 districts of the province, including seven districts of Karachi, officials confirmed on Sunday.

According to the Department of College Education, the initiative comes in response to a directive from the Sindh High Court’s Sukkur Bench, issued on September 17, 2025, ordering the provincial government to ensure the establishment of IT colleges throughout Sindh.

To move forward with the plan, the department has instructed the Director General Colleges and Regional Director Colleges to submit comprehensive progress reports. These reports are to be submitted within three days to accelerate implementation.

Officials said that setting up IT colleges in every district will help promote digital education, expand career opportunities for students, and support Sindh’s long-term vision for technological advancement. The Sindh government believes the initiative will play a pivotal role in preparing the youth for future tech-driven industries.
