I’ve been drawing for decades, but coordination and dexterity issues made it feel like I was fighting a losing battle with traditional methods. I’ve tried many drawing tablets over the years, and working with an undo button was game-changing, but I struggled with the disconnect of drawing with my hand and only seeing the results on my monitor.

Being able to draw on iPads felt like a revelation, but the small sizes and smooth surface of their screens meant they still weren’t quite hitting the mark for me. Then I got the opportunity to try out different pen displays, and oh boy, the XPPen Artist Pro 24 Gen 2 4K was love at first line.

XPPen makes some of the best drawing tablets[1], and the Artist Pro 24 Gen 2 4K has a lot to offer, including an expansive and vibrant 24-inch display that feels pleasingly natural to draw on, a great range of customizable accessories, and more, all while costing a whole lot less than a Wacom.

Speaking of cost, the XPPen Artist Pro 24 Gen 2 4K has a list price of $1,299.99 / £1,199, and is available at XPPen, Amazon[2], and other retailers.

We’ve spotted multiple price drops at Amazon US over the last nine months, with the price dropping as low as $1,039.99 on occasion. Right now, it can be found at Amazon for $1,099.99[3], so it’s already subject to a tempting $200 saving you may want to take advantage of.

Sadly, it’s still full price at Amazon UK, and doesn’t appear to have been discounted since its release.

As I write this, there’s a slight saving of £60 as you can get the Artist Pro 24 Gen 2 4K at XPPen for £1139.[4] However, the deal ends in a few hours, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that Prime Day is the day we see a price drop on this side of the Atlantic.

It’s been so enjoyable to draw on the XPPen Artist Pro 24 Gen 2 4K that I often find myself immersed for hours at a time. I really appreciate the convenience of the large drawing area and the ability to adjust the angle of the display, plus the accessories are wonderful to work with, too.

There’s a choice of two styli: the X3 Pro Smart Chip, which is a more typical stylus shape, and the X3 Pro Slim, which feels like drawing with a traditional pen. They both feature programmable buttons, as does the ACK05 Wireless Shortcut Remote, which is fantastic, giving me effortless access to all my most-used functions and shortcuts, which are simple to change on the XPPen Pen Tablet driver.

As I made abundantly clear in my full review of the XPPen Artist Pro 24 Gen 2 4K[5], you’d be getting great value for money even at full list price. But everyone loves a cost-saving, don’t they? So I’d say it’s well worth checking back over the Amazon Prime Big Deal Days sales, just in case there’s a bargain to be bagged.
