It was a battle of Nigerian stars in the Saudi Women’s Premier League as Asisat Oshoala and Ashleigh Plumptre faced each other in a dramatic clash that saw Al Hilal beat Al Ittihad 3–2 in Jeddah.

The highly anticipated game lived up to its billing. Plumptre impressed for Al Ittihad, providing two assists, including an 85th-minute cross that brought the score to 2–2 and gave the home fans hope of a late comeback.

But in stoppage time, Oshoala, who recently joined Al Hilal, showed her class once again. The Super Falcons striker calmly netted in the 90+3rd minute to hand her team all three points and silence the Ittihad crowd.

After the game, Plumptre praised both teams and expressed respect for her international teammate.

“Proud of the team tonight. Happy to contribute with two assists, and even though the result didn’t go our way, it was great to share the stage with my fellow Super Falcons sister, Asisat Oshoala. We fight hard on the pitch, but there’s always respect beyond it. On to the next challenge!” she said.

The win boosted Al Hilal’s title hopes and highlighted the rising level of competition in the Saudi Women’s League, where international stars like Oshoala and Plumptre continue to shine.
