The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has confirmed new dates, venue, and fixtures for the 2025 NWFL Nationwide competition.

The championship will now take place from 10 to 17 October 2025 at the Bwari Township Stadium, Abuja.

In a statement on Wednesday, 1 October, the NWFL Chief Operating Officer, Modupe Shabi, said ten teams will compete, divided into two groups of five. She described the Nationwide as an important platform for new clubs hoping to rise through the league system.

“The Nationwide competition remains a vital stage for clubs across the country to showcase their potential and grow through the league structure. We are committed to making it competitive, transparent, and successful,” Shabi said.

Teams will arrive on 10 October for a pre-match technical meeting, while matches will run on 11, 13, 14, 16, and 17 October. Rest days are scheduled for 12 and 15 October.

Highlighting the tournament’s role in developing women’s football, Shabi added that the top two teams from each group will be promoted to the NWFL Championship.

She wished all the teams success, saying, “We look forward to an exciting week of women’s football in the Federal Capital Territory.”

Group A: Osklean FC (Rivers), Rangers Women FC (Enugu), Plateau Queens FC (Plateau), DreamStars Ladies FC (Lagos), C2E Sports Academy (Abia).

Group B: Sporting Angels FC (Rivers), Alexander Queens FC (Enugu), Rosaria Victrix FC (Imo), NAF Queens FC (Abuja), Solo Wonders FC (Akwa Ibom).
