The Flying Eagles will be looking to bounce back when they face Saudi Arabia in their second group match at the ongoing FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile.
Nigeria’s U20 side lost their opening game 1-0 to Norway on Monday despite dominating possession and creating several chances. They were also denied two penalty appeals during the match.
A win against Saudi Arabia would put the seven-time African champions and two-time World Cup runners-up in a strong position to reach the Round of 16, before their final group game against Colombia on Sunday.
Head Coach Aliyu Zubair said the team has put the defeat behind them and is fully focused on getting a positive result against Saudi Arabia. With all key players available, Zubair is expected to stick with his 4-3-3 formation, focusing on attack and ball possession.
However, Israel Ayuma, Daniel Daga, and Charles Agada, who have all received yellow cards, will need to be careful to avoid suspension ahead of the clash with Colombia.
