It’s always tough getting back to the grind on Monday. But why not try to get the week off to a strong start by putting some money down on one of the many MLB games scheduled? We’ve done a deep dive into each matchup to find the best MLB bets of the day. Here’s what we came up with.
Odds are from FanDuel (unless otherwise stated). We strongly suggest you line shop and confirm you’re getting the best value before placing your bets. Remember, odds are fluid and may shift throughout the day.
Toronto Blue Jays vs. Colorado Rockies
The Rockies are hitting .303 (66-for-218) and averaging seven runs per game over their past six contests, despite a 3–3 record. The Blue Jays have scored 26 runs over that same span, good for 4.4 runs per game. The two clubs meet in Denver on Monday.
Toronto’s Eric Lauer (6–2, 2.68 ERA) has been a solid starter on the road (4–2, 2.74 ERA). Colorado’s Tanner Gordon (2–3, 4.85 ERA) has struggled on the road (0–2, 9.39 ERA) but has been stellar at home (2–1, 2.95 ERA).
Our pick: Blue Jays -1.5 on the run line (-146)
Gordon might keep the Toronto offense in check for the first five innings, but once this one turns over to the bullpen, the Blue Jays will take over — if they haven’t already.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Atlanta Braves
The Brewers have won six of their past seven games, scoring 61 runs (8.7 per game). The Braves are 3–3 over their last six but have scored 34 runs (5.7 per game).
Recently acquired Eric Fedde (3–11, 5.33 ERA) will try to slow the Brewers’ offense in his second start with Atlanta. His recent form doesn’t offer much hope: Over his past six games — five with the Cardinals — Fedde has allowed 45 earned runs in 21 1/3 innings. That’s an 18.98 ERA in that span.
Our pick: Brewers -1.5 on the run line (+112)
Milwaukee is red-hot at the plate and taking on a Braves team so riddled with injuries they had to bring in Fedde. The over (Brewers, -120) is also worth a look.

San Francisco Giants vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
These are two teams heading in opposite directions since the All-Star break. The Pirates were swept by the White Sox to start the second half but have gone 9–3 since. The Giants, despite winning two of three over the weekend, are just 4–11 since the break.
The teams open a three-game series in Pittsburgh on Monday.
San Francisco starts Justin Verlander (1–8, 4.53 ERA), who held the Pirates to six hits and one run over five innings last Tuesday in a no-decision. He was 1–3 with a 5.40 ERA for the month.
Pittsburgh is scheduled to start Johan Oviedo, who hasn’t pitched since September 2023 due to elbow surgery and a lat strain. He went 9–14 with a 4.31 ERA in 2023.
Our pick: Pirates +104 on the moneyline
Verlander has thrown well in his past two outings, but there’s no guarantee of a third strong start from the 42-year-old. Oviedo is a wild card, but if he struggles, expect a quick hook and a long bullpen outing.
