Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced it will stage a country-wide protest on August 5, 2025 in remembrance of two years since the detention of former PM Imran Khan. The PTI protest will seek the release of Khan who is serving a sentence in the Adiala Jail over a case of corruption having stolen 190 million pounds.

The PTI protest will take place in major cities across Pakistan, with a particular focus on Islamabad, Lahore, and other urban centres in Punjab. According to PTI leader Asad Qaiser, all preparations for peaceful and constitutional demonstrations have been finalized.

In Islamabad, protest planning has been adjusted to avoid clashes, while the PTI protest on 5 August location includes key constituency points across the city. Districts like Faisalabad, Pakpattan, and Okara will also witness gatherings, guided by local ticket-holders.

The rally will be held under the alliance of Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP). The strategy discussions have been led by leadership such as Barrister Gohar, Salman Akram Raja, and Ali Amin Gandapur. A consultative meeting that was held in Peshawar on July 31 discussed the policy of marching to Islamabad or remaining on decentralized protests.

Internal conflict emerged over the protest timeline, with KP CM Gandapur proposing a 90-day campaign. PTI Punjab organizer Aliya Hamza Malik reaffirmed that the protest must proceed on August 5, as instructed by Imran Khan.

Road blockades are already in place in Punjab, disrupting movement around PTI protest 5 August location zones. The government has also launched a Federal Constabulary ahead of the protest.
