9-1-1[1] season 9 episode 1 might just be the wildest series debut we’ve had all year and. thankfully, we don’t have long to wait until it drops.
Season 8 followed another series of jaw-dropping emergencies, resulting in the deadly virus outbreak that ultimately took Bobby’s (Peter Krause) life. I’m still not over his heart-wrenching funeral, but life has hugely moved on for widow Athena (Angela Bassett).
If you’ve not already seen the new trailer for the Hulu[2] and Disney+[3] series (you can watch it below), Athena and Hen (Aisha Hinds) are set to make their way to space. Why? I cannot say.
Who knows, maybe the move will make 9-1-1 season 9 one of the best Disney+ TV shows of the year so far[4], but personally, I’m tuning in for a total car crash. If you’re joining me, here’s when you can stream episode 1.
What is the launch time for 9-1-1 season 9 episode 1?
Great news, cadets: 9-1-1 season 9 episode 1 drops on Thursday, October 9, which is a week earlier than originally planned. US fans will be able to catch it at 8/7c on ABC, with it hitting our favorite streaming services shortly after (more on that below).
As for the rest of the world, here’s when you should tune in:
- Canada – Thursday, October 9 at 5pm PT / 8pm ET
- UK – Friday, October 10 at 1am BST
- India – Friday, October 10 at 5:30am IST
- Singapore – Friday, October 10 at 8am SGT
- Australia – Friday, October 10 at 10am AEST
- New Zealand – Friday, October 10 at 12pm NZST
Episodes will be followed by brand-new spinoff 9-1-1: Nashville (where everyone’s feet will be on the ground, presumably), and Grey’s Anatomy[6].
Where can I watch new episodes of 9-1-1?
Thankfully, 9-1-1 is already across some of the best streaming services[7] around, meaning you can easily catch up with seasons 1 through 8 while waiting for new episodes of this season.

While 9-1-1 season 9 will comprise 18 episodes, only the first seven have confirmed release dates. That schedule looks something like this:
- 9-1-1 season 9 episode 1 – Thursday, October 9 / Friday, October 10
- 9-1-1 season 9 episode 2 – Thursday, October 16 / Friday, October 17
- 9-1-1 season 9 episode 3 – Thursday, October 23 / Friday, October 24
- 9-1-1 season 9 episode 4 – Thursday, October 30 / Friday, October 31
- 9-1-1 season 9 episode 5 – Thursday, November 6 / Friday, November 7
- 9-1-1 season 9 episode 6 – Thursday, November 13 / Friday, November 14
- 9-1-1 season 9 episode 7 – Thursday, November 20 / Friday, November 21
As Hardened 9-1-1 fans will know, there will be a mid-season break, with the latter half of season 9 looking like it’ll arrive sometime in 2026.
However, it’s too soon to confirm when this break might be, as episode 7 feels a little early if we look at the rollout of past seasons.
This is also assuming there are no unexpected weekly delays between season 9 episodes – as 9-1-1 is primarily a network show, is has been historically subject to temporary delays.
