Montgomery Swizzenbocher, also known as Montgomery Swizzenbocher the 3rd or Montgomery Swizzenbocher III, refers to a Black baby character, depicted in a grey sweatsuit or onesie and socks, who spread memetically in exploitable[1] templates via Photoshop[2] edits and AI art[3] on Instagram[4] and TikTok[5] in 2025. Montgomery Swizzenbocher memes[6] started on Instagram and Instagram Reels[7]. The original meme showed Swizzenbocher standing in a kitchen (or bathroom) on a tiled floor and looking up at the viewer. Montgomery Swizzenbocher memes continued to go viral in late 2025, as new characters like Shyleer Lorenzo Swizzenbocher were introduced. Overall, the character was reminiscent of Hood Irony[8] memes.
Origin
Sometime before May 5th, 2025, the Instagram account @montgomeryswizzenbocherthe3rd posted an image of a Black baby with an adult face standing in a kitchen (or bathroom) on a tiled floor, looking up at the viewer. The baby was wearing a great sweatsuit and socks.
It’s unclear when the original image was first posted because Instagram user @montgomeryswizzenbocherthe3rd’s content prior to May 5th, 2025, has since been removed or archived. The account was briefly suspended as well.
As of writing, the earliest post on the @montgomeryswizzenbocherthe3rd Instagram account is a Reel that was shared on May 5th, showing Montgomery Swizzenbocher freestyling. The video used AI video[9] tools. Over four months, the video received over 5,500 likes.
