As Russia continue to sow fear across the world, Vladimir Putin has been told by one of his leading counsellors Sergei Karaganov that going nuclear may be the only option
One of Vladimir Putin’s[1] most trusted advisors has told the dictator he will be committing a “terrible sin” if he fails to consider using nuclear weapons in Europe.
Sinister Sergei Karaganov – dubbed Professor Doomsday – is the honorary chairman of the Russian Council for Foreign and Defence Policy. The 73-year-old has now claimed unleashing tactical atomic weapons is the only way to prevent a larger war between the US and Russia[2].
He spoke as Putin’s acolytes are increasingly advocating going nuclear. Chief TV propagandist Vladimir Solovyov, who also advocates nuclear strikes, smirked and laughed as he called on his nightly TV show for Oxford and Cambridge to be bombed to decimate the British elite and their universities.

The aggressive rhetoric comes as Donald Trump[5] taunted Russia[6] with being a “paper tiger” – unable even to defeat Ukraine[7] in three and a half years of war. “The use of nuclear weapons, in extreme cases, in the most dreadful case, is a terrible sin,” said Karaganov. “But not using them and condemning your people and the world[8] to a major war is an even greater sin.”
He voiced a refrain that Russia is somehow threatened by the countries of Europe, and that Putin had to defeat this supposed threat. “The main objective in our war, which we’re waging against Europe and the West in Ukraine, is to….break the back of Europe,” he said on Russian state TV. This can be done.
“We must abandon some of the foolish ideas devised by our predecessors [who] still say that a nuclear war shouldn’t happen. And that it can never be won This is absolute nonsense. A nuclear war can be won, God forbid it happens.”
In his twisted logic, a nuclear war in Europe would prevent a “truly major thermonuclear war” between Russia and the US. “We must first break the will of the European elites. What I call breaking the back of Europe, in the hope that….normal, healthy forces can rise again in Europe.
“I fear that if we are not prepared to use the most decisive measures, the most terrible weapons. And do not abandon the complacent notion that a nuclear war cannot be won, we could find ourselves in a very long, attritional war with this still-rich Europe.
“And ultimately, God forbid, exhaust our people. And most importantly, we could allow this war to spread to all of humanity. This European contagion must be eradicated. He was asked: “So, we need to strike Europe?” He then responded: “We need to prepare to strike, or at least make them understand that we are ready.
“It won’t necessarily be a nuclear strike….but we must prepare, and that’s why I’m writing and calling for nuclear weapons to be finally returned from storage to [arm] intermediate- and shorter-range missiles. This is to try to sober up Europe.”
Solovyov used Kremlin-funded state TV to attack Britain’s ruling elite claiming that the “idiots” in the government and the royal family[9] were not really in charge – but rather a shadowy Establishment. He asked: “Who really governs Great Britain? Seriously speaking, we’ve never analysed this issue.
“We can’t seriously think that the bunch of idiots who actually hold power there, pretending to be prime ministers, are actually in charge. We understand perfectly well that the royal family shouldn’t be allowed within cannon shot of feeding the birds.”
Political scientist Dmitry Kulikov told him that in Britain “each ministry has a huge, permanent infrastructure of officials who are nurtured in two British universities. Just two [Oxford and Cambridge]…. These are the people who meet in [gentlemen’s] clubs and at operas. Solovyov proposed “bombing Oxford and Cambridge to sort this out”.
