Mr. Incredible Becoming Uncanny are a series of memes[1] based on edited images of character Mr. Incredible in which he appears increasingly traumatized. The format, which gained popularity on YouTube[2] and TikTok in December 2021, is a development of July 2021 Traumatized Mr. Incredible[3] meme format.

Mr. Incredible Becoming Uncanny is a development of Traumatized Mr. Incredible format. The original image of “reverse toonified” Mr. Incredible (shown below, left) was posted by Twitter[4] user @CitizenPlain on October 15th, 2020. On November 10th, 2020, Redditor[5] PARILIZEDpArrOT243 posted a The Teacher’s Copy vs. What They Give You[6] meme based on the image, editing the reverse toonified image to look like it was created by improperly using a photocopier (shown below, right).
The two-panel format initially gained popularity in late June 2021 after on June 18th Redditor a_cuppa_java posted a version of the meme that gained over 39,000 upvotes in three months (shown below, left). The format returned to popularity again in September 2021 as “People Who Don’t Know vs. People Who Know” after on September 5th, 2021, Redditor Dapper_Dildo posted a four-panel Table-Kun[7] meme based on the format (shown below, right)
Mr. Incredible Becoming Uncanny
On September 27th, 2021, YouTube user músicos Cínicos 鯉 uploaded a video titled “mr incredible becoming uncanny”. In the video, it showing photo of Mr. Incredible from the original to the eeriest version of it. The video received more than 624,000 views and 32,000 likes(shown below).

On December 8th, 2021, TikTok user @fishystik1a uploaded the clip and added caption “hearing your name called at:”, from the normal one, until the creepiest place. The video received more than 60,000 views in ten days (shown below). On December 14th, 2021, Facebook[8] page Pains of Hell Wellness Clinic reposted the video, it received more than 5,800 reactions and 3,800 shares in four days.

Days later, the format became popular on Facebook. For example on December 14th, 2021, Facebook user Vici uploaded the Touhou Project[10] variation (originally from Rizuki Noka). The video received 236 reactions and 400 shares (shown below, left). On December 16th, 2021. Facebook user Gabriel DG Karlsefni reposted the Houseki no Kuni[11] variation. The video received 537 reactions and 682 shares (shown below, right).
On December 19th, 2021, YouTube user Lessons in Meme Culture[12] uploaded a video that explaining the meme. The video received more than 150,000 views in less than one day (shown below).
On December 30th, 2021, YouTube user ItsFarhang uploaded a video that became the most viewed on YouTube. The video received more than 8,600,000 views and 505,000 likes in 1 month(shown below.)
On January 13th, 2022, YouTube user MexicoEmpireFOREVER uploaded the largest extension of Mr. Incredible Becoming Uncanny Meme with 30 minutes and 59 seconds. the video received 239,000 views and 10,000 likes in 4 weeks(shown below.)

On November 27th, 2021, YouTube user MexicoEmpireFOREVER uploaded the first reversed version of the Mr. Incredible Becoming Uncanny format, the video is 1 extended version of Mr. Incredible Becoming Uncanny and in the first version appears Mr. Incredible Happy wearing glasses, The Song of the phase is called Sora Iro No Kaze (空色の風) by Sora Takenouchi (武之内空), a fictional character from the Digimon Adventure Saga, Sora Is interpreted by Yuuko Mizutani (水谷優子) (10/04/1964-05/17/2016). On December 31st, 2021, Redditor insaneliving_ uploaded a new and most popular reversed version of the Mr. Incredible Becoming Uncanny format to /r/MemeTemplatesOfficial. In the video, 10 increasingly positive (in later stages, grinning and hyped-up) versions of Mr. Incredible follow each other as the music progresses from calm melody to heavy metal. The post, titled “Mr Incredible Becomes Ascended,” gained over 8,000 upvotes in four days. On the same day, TikToker @nobleretat reposted the video, with the post gaining over 3.8 million views and 521,000 likes in 1 month (shown below).
