X, formerly known as Twitter, is set to roll out a fully AI-powered timeline by November 2025. The announcement was made by Elon Musk and X’s Head of Product Nikita Bier, who revealed that the platform will rely entirely on AI to deliver a more personalized feed, reducing irrelevant viral content and politically charged posts.
The move comes as part of Musk’s vision to reshape X into a user-driven platform. Through Grok, X’s AI assistant, users will be able to customize their feeds in real time, aligning content with their specific interests. The company has also promised to open-source its algorithm every two weeks, giving users transparency and the ability to see how their feeds are being curated.
Bier emphasized that the change aims to help users “find their niche” instead of being stuck in the mainstream algorithm. While some accounts are still showing irrelevant posts, improvements are underway. Additionally, X is rolling out accessibility upgrades such as Grok’s new “Read Aloud” feature, which lets users listen to AI-generated responses in natural-sounding voices.
With this update, X is moving closer to becoming a fully AI-driven social media platform, where personalization, transparency, and accessibility stand at the core of user experience.
