The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a new feature in its Pak ID mobile app, allowing citizens to register births and deaths digitally. Initially rolled out in Jhelum, Chakwal, and Nankana Sahib, the service targets areas where floods have disrupted routine administrative work.
This initiative marks another step in NADRA’s mission to digitize citizen services. Traditionally, families were required to visit union council offices multiple times for such registrations, often causing delays. With the app, users can now submit applications, upload documents, and track progress directly from their phones.
Key Features of the New Service:
Benefit | Details |
Convenience | Register births and deaths without visiting UC offices |
Accessibility | Special focus on flood-affected and rural areas |
Efficiency | Faster processing and reduced paperwork |
Transparency | Centralized record system ensuring accuracy in population data |
According to officials, NADRA is already preparing to expand this digital facility nationwide, in collaboration with local administrations across provinces. This development is expected to make vital record-keeping more efficient, accurate, and accessible for citizens, especially in remote or disaster-hit regions.
“Digitization is not just about technology it’s about making life easier for people,” a NADRA official said.
