Huawei has officially announced the MatePad 12 X 2025, the latest addition to its tablet lineup, featuring the company’s familiar PaperMatte Display and improved performance hardware.
PaperMatte Screen
The tablet sports a 12-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 2800 × 1840 pixels, peak brightness of 1,000 nits, and an adaptive 144Hz refresh rate. It also supports HDR Vivid for enhanced visuals.
The screen comes with PaperMatte coating, which reduces glare and simulates a paper-like texture, ideal for reading books and other content. Huawei claims this technology minimizes eye strain and improves readability, particularly in outdoor conditions. The display also supports stylus input, including the Huawei[1] M-Pencil Pro.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the MatePad 12 X 2025 is powered by the Kirin T92B chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. A 3D vapor chamber aids thermal management during extended use.
The device ships with HarmonyOS 4.3, Huawei’s latest operating system.
Specs and Price
The tablet carries a 50MP rear camera with an LED flash and an 8MP front-facing camera for video calls. For audio, it includes a six-speaker setup and dual microphones. Weighing 555 grams and measuring 5.9mm thin, the MatePad 12 X 2025 is available in Green and White finishes.
Powering the device is a 10,100 mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.2. Huawei has priced the tablet at $755 for the sole 12GB/256GB Wi-Fi-only variant.
