Philadelphia third baseman Alec Bohm, reinstated from the 10-day injured list on Friday, collected two hits and three RBIs as the Phillies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-2 in Phoenix.
Bohm hit an RBI double in the second inning and a two-run single in the ninth.
He had been sidelined for the second time this season. In July, he sustained a fractured rib and missed one month of action. He was placed on the IL on Sept. 8 due to left shoulder inflammation.
Bohm, 29, is hitting .273 with nine home runs and 54 RBIs in 112 games. He had only three hits in 21 at-bats in the month of September before heading to the IL.
Bohm drove in 97 runs in both 2023 and 2024.
The Phillies (92-62) have clinched the National League East and have a magic number of four over NL West-leading Los Angeles to sew up direct passage to the National League Division Series as the No. 1 or No. 2 seed.
Infielder Rafael Lantigua was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move. He was promoted to the majors on Tuesday but didn’t get into a game.
