The Medium[1], a 25,000-square-foot venue in downtown Springdale, is taking applications for InnerSpace 2026, a program offering free space and support for creative, experimental and community-focused projects.
The Medium at 214 S. Main St. is an artist-led project of Creative Arkansas Community Hub & Exchange[2] (CACHE).
InnerSpace gives artists, creators and innovators use of The Medium’s Blackbox for a day. They can use it for new work, workshops, performances, exhibitions, gatherings or collaborative projects. In 2024, The Medium launched InnerSpace as a pilot program. InnerSpace is supported by the Tyson Family Foundation.
“We’re continually examining the barriers NWA artists face and finding new ways to support them,” said Amber Perrodin, artist and community manager at The Medium. “The most tangible thing we can offer here at The Medium is physical space, and we’re excited to open the doors to one of our most popular rooms, the Blackbox. With its wooden floors, matte black walls, and versatile layout, it’s an inspiring space where artists can bring their ideas to life without worrying about cost.”
The application deadline is 5 p.m. Oct. 8. Six projects will be selected through a live random selection process on Oct. 22. Selected projects will be scheduled from March through August 2026.
The program is open to anyone at least 18 years old and living in Benton or Washington counties. Link here[3] to apply.
