Xiaomi has officially confirmed the launch of its 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max smartphones in China later this month. In a move aimed at aligning with Apple’s naming convention, the company has opted to skip the number 16 entirely.
The rear design of the Xiaomi[1] 17 Pro Max has now been revealed through an image briefly posted by the company’s official Weibo account. The image confirms earlier leaks showing a secondary rear display, solidifying speculation surrounding the device’s unique design. The post was quickly removed, suggesting either an accidental release or part of a planned teaser strategy.
All three devices, the 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max, are expected to run on Qualcomm’s newly confirmed Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The naming was recently clarified after weeks of speculation.
The 17 and 17 Pro are expected to share the same dimensions, with the Pro variant offering enhanced camera capabilities and potentially an upgraded display. The 17 Pro Max will reportedly feature a larger chassis and expanded features, following a strategy similar to Apple’s “Pro Max” tier.
