Government schools in Islamabad are being transformed into digital learning centers through a new partnership between the Ministry of Federal Education and Zong Business Solutions. The initiative aims to equip public schools with international-standard technology and prepare students for a future-driven world.
Federal Minister for Education and Technical Training Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqi inaugurated the project on Wednesday. He praised Zong for introducing advanced digital tools in government schools, calling it “commendable work” that would help Pakistan “walk with its head held high.”
The program is converting schools into smart learning centers. Classrooms are now equipped with modern infrastructure and digital technologies that place students on equal footing with peers in more developed institutions.
Zong has fully digitalized these schools, providing not only devices but also advanced skills training. Students and teachers are being introduced to programming, blockchain, Web 3.0, and AI-powered tools.
The effort also extends to teachers, enabling them to integrate digital learning confidently into their classrooms. According to Zong, the program is designed to empower both educators and students to thrive in a connected future while contributing to Pakistan’s socio-economic development.
Farooq Raza, Head of Business Solutions at Zong, said education remains “the cornerstone of national progress” and technology is “its most powerful catalyst.” He added that the company plans to replicate this digital model in other regions of Pakistan, inspired by initiatives in China.
