Xiaomi is preparing to launch its new flagship lineup later this month. The series will include the Xiaomi[1] 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max. The company has already confirmed that it will skip the “16” branding to align its naming with Apple.
A new leak[2] has revealed new details about the Xiaomi 17 Pro’s cameras. The device will feature a 50MP main camera with an f/1.67 aperture. A telephoto lens with an f/3.0 aperture and a 115 mm focal length will enable 5x optical zoom. The ultrawide camera is expected to come with a 17 mm focal length. All three sensors will carry Leica branding.
Interestingly, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is rumored to sport a different camera setup. This suggests that the Pro and Pro Max will not be identical apart from their size and battery. The standard Pro is expected to match the vanilla Xiaomi 17 in dimensions, but it will deliver a more advanced camera system.
Earlier reports claimed that the Xiaomi 17 Pro would include a 6.3-inch display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The base model is likely to feature a downgraded camera package compared to the Pro.
With its Leica-powered optics and focus on imaging, the Xiaomi 17 Pro looks set to compete directly with other premium flagships. The global launch later this month will confirm how closely Xiaomi’s strategy aligns with its rivals.
