YouTube Shorts has introduced a new wave of AI-powered tools for creators, revealed during the YouTube Made event on Tuesday. The latest updates are designed to make content creation more interactive and versatile for users worldwide.
One of the standout features is Veo 3 Fast, a custom version of Google’s text-to-video model. This tool enables creators to generate 480p clips with minimal delay, marking the first time that Shorts can be created with both visuals and sound. The rollout has already begun in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, with plans to extend to more regions.
The update also allows creators to animate still images by transferring motion from video clips, making content more dynamic. Users can style their Shorts with effects like origami or pop art and even add props or characters with simple text prompts.
Another addition to YouTube Shorts is a remix tool that lets creators turn dialogue from eligible videos into soundtracks for their own Shorts, offering new opportunities for collaboration and creative reuse.
YouTube confirmed that these AI-driven features will continue rolling out in the coming months, aiming to strengthen YouTube Shorts as a key platform for short-form video innovation.
