Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has officially joined Bayern Munich on a season-long loan, despite the move nearly falling through on deadline day.

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has said that new signing Nicolas Jackson will not be under pressure to perform straight away.

Speaking after a training session, Kompany praised the striker for settling in quickly and getting along well with his teammates.

“Training went well, but what matters more is that his personality fits nicely with the team. He’s a good person, and I hope he scores lots of goals,” Kompany said.

However, the manager made it clear that Jackson will be given time to adjust to life at Bayern.

“I won’t put any pressure on him,” he added.

Jackson, who is from Senegal, joined Bayern Munich on loan from Chelsea after a complicated transfer process. He is expected to strengthen Bayern’s attack as they aim to win both the German league and the Champions League.

The 23-year-old striker could face his parent club Chelsea very soon, as Bayern prepare to host them in a big Champions League opener on Wednesday night at the Allianz Arena.
