The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has announced that foreign medical graduates must clear a mandatory registration exam to practice in the country. The council stressed that the measure is designed to ensure consistent medical standards in Pakistan.

According to PM&DC, graduates from foreign institutions will not receive licenses until they pass this exam. The council added that this step is essential to protect patient safety and align with international benchmarks.

The council also noted that the exam will evaluate both theoretical knowledge and practical competence. By enforcing this rule, the council aims to maintain quality medical services across the country.
