For those unfamiliar, Taylor, who starred in “Vanderpump Rules” from 2013 to 2020 before joining the cast of “The Valley” in 2024, recently announced his decision to take a break from the show in an emotional statement.

“After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I’ll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley,” the “House of Villains” star said. “Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz.”

Although Taylor’s departure reportedly blindsided his castmates, Rogen appeared to be largely unsurprised by the move.

“I don’t think Jax should come back at this point,” Rogen told PEOPLE. “He’s a pretty, maybe, just bad person. We can say that he’s been that way for 20 years on television or however long it’s been — he doesn’t seem like he’s going to change. He seems no better. Maybe he seems worse the older he gets, I think, in a lot of ways.”

Rogen explained that after watching the first part of the “Valley” three-part reunion, he realized Taylor was “so f-cked up.”

“What a f-cking a-shole. Yeah, a very bad, bad, bad character. Yeah,” Rogen finished.

And “The Valley” isn’t the only thing Taylor is leaving behind him. Last week, the reality star, 45, also shared that he was taking a step back from his sports bar, previously called “Jax’s.”

“I’ve made the decision to end my partnership with Jax’s,” the father of one confirmed after photos of workers taking the “Jax’s” sign off the roof began circulating online. “It wasn’t an easy decision, but it was the right one. Right now, my focus is on my sobriety and mental health, and staying connected to my bar is no longer in line with the priorities I’ve set for myself and the life I’m working towards.”

And if that wasn’t bad enough, Taylor is also dealing with a tumultuous divorce from his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright.

In a previous interview, Cartwright, who also stars in the popular Bravo reality series, opened up about how difficult things have been for her and her son, Cruz, who was recently diagnosed with autism, while trying to work with Taylor on the divorce.

“Jax would not leave for seven months, while I had to move to different rental houses,” Cartwright said. “I even said that he could move into the rental houses that I paid for. He still wouldn’t do it. No matter what.”

“I’ll never forgive him for doing that to us,” she said. “When you’re dealing with a child with autism, we shouldn’t be the ones moving around. That should have never happened. But that’s just how Jax is.”

What Changes Will Happen On ‘The Valley’ For Season 3?

It’s unclear what the cast of “The Valley” will look like for season 3. Still, the show’s executive producer, Alex Baskin, recently revealed that producers are exploring options to freshen things up, including potentially bringing in former “VPR” stars like Scheana Shay.

“Yeah, I mean, we’re making our plans for next season. I wouldn’t say we were trying to set the stage to do anything in particular, but again, Scheana is really friends with that entire group, and so you actually have to take pains, in some cases, to not include that group, or those ‘Vanderpump’ folks, because they are connected to this group,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.

“Now, we’re figuring out where we go from here. Obviously, there are already changes: Jax isn’t coming back, so season three will be different just by virtue of that. We’re sort of figuring out what else it’s going to look like.”
