The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has announced a significant increase in the monthly per-child fee structure for schools under the Foundation-Assisted Schools (FAS), Education Voucher Scheme (EVS), and New School Program (NSP). The revised fees will come into effect from September 2025, impacting thousands of students across the province.

The decision was taken after rising inflation and increasing operational costs placed pressure on partner schools. PEF highlighted that schools were struggling with expenses such as teacher salaries, utilities, and classroom resources, making it necessary to raise the per-child fee to sustain quality education.

Under the new schedule, fees vary by grade level, starting at Rs. 800 for nursery to class II and reaching up to Rs. 2,200 for intermediate science students. Alongside this adjustment, PEF has directed schools to also enhance teacher honorariums so that staff can equally benefit from the financial revision.

This move aims to ensure financial sustainability for PEF-affiliated schools while continuing to provide free or subsidized education to underprivileged families in Punjab. Officials emphasized that the increase is crucial to protect academic standards and support both teachers and students in the face of ongoing economic challenges.

Revised Monthly Fee Structure (Effective September 2025)
