Goodwill Industries of Arkansas announced Thursday (Sept. 11) the hiring of Amanda Brogdon as vice president of education and training.

Brogdon brings nearly two decades of experience in education and leadership to her new role. She began her career as a business technology teacher in the Newport School District and has since held positions including high school principal, career and technical education coordinator, and assistant superintendent.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas, a master’s degree in teaching from UA Monticello, and a master’s degree in education from UA Little Rock.

Brogdon also earned an education specialist degree with superintendent certification and is pursuing a doctorate in education at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.

“Amanda brings both expertise and a deep commitment to education that will strengthen Goodwill’s mission of changing lives through education, training and employment across Arkansas,” said Brian Marsh, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Arkansas. “Her leadership will be vital as we work to grow and expand our education and training programs statewide.”

In her new role, Brogdon will lead the organization’s education and training initiatives at the Goodwill Training and Education Centers (GTEC) in both Little Rock and Springdale.

GTEC houses The Excel Center, Arkansas’ only tuition-free adult high school, and The Academy at Goodwill, which provides accelerated career training and certifications.
