Punjab has launched Pakistan’s first AI based driving test car on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The vehicle was designed and built by the Traffic Police to make driving tests transparent, fully automated and free from human influence.

DIG Traffic Waqas Nazir said the car is fitted with modern cameras and sensors that automatically assess candidate performance. The cabin includes a facial recognition camera and a biometric fingerprint scanner. Four external cameras record driving behaviour during the test. The system activates when the candidate sits and it issues test instructions and a visible countdown.

It checks safety items such as the handbrake and seatbelt and it can automatically declare failure for specific errors, for example if reverse gear is engaged more than once. Test results are updated instantly without manual input.

The authorities announced that the initial units will be stationed in Lahore. The government intends to manufacture 200 of such vehicles in the current fiscal year and offer them to the licensing centres in Punjab.
