The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has issued notices to several prominent content creators including Rajab Butt, Anas Ali, Iqra Kanwal, Hasnain Shah and Irum Mehmood over alleged promotion of gambling applications.

The agency has directed them to appear at the NCCIA office in Gulberg II on September 15 at 11 a.m to record their statements. The notices state that the creators were called twice before and did not join the enquiry. The NCCIA Notice warns that failure to appear will be treated as having no defence in the case.

The creators are accused of using social media to promote unregistered and non licensed trading and gambling apps and of encouraging investments that led to financial losses for users. Investigators say evidence points to organised promotion that targeted young audiences and moved funds through unregulated channels.

This NCCIA Notice follows the August 17 arrest of Saad-ur-Rehman known as Ducky Bhai on similar charges. The agency said the current summons are part of a wider probe that seeks to identify promoters, platform operators and financial conduits. Legal counsel for some creators has indicated that written responses and representation may be submitted on the scheduled date.

The NCCIA said the enquiry will proceed according to law and that further legal steps will follow depending on the statements and evidence collected.
