Tributes to Charlie Kirk are pouring in from across the political spectrum and his assassination is drawing bipartisan condemnation and outrage over surging political violence in the United States. All four former presidents denounced the attack, as did Gabby Giffords, Steve Scalise and California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who welcomed the right-wing activist on his podcast earlier in the year, saying the attack is “disgusting, vile and reprehensible.” NBC’s Peter Alexander reports for TODAY.
