Donald Trump has once again dismissed rumors that he has died, but some fans were left confused by a strange lump under his suit during his recent appearance
A peculiar bulge noticed beneath Donald Trump[1]‘s jacket has meant rumours and speculation surrounding his health continue to circulate.
The president addressed the media[2] on Tuesday, rubbishing suggestions that he had passed away following his absence from the White House for most of the Labor Day weekend.
“I have heard it’s sort of crazy, but last week I did numerous news conferences, all successful.[3] They went very well, like this is going very well, and then I didn’t do any for two days, and they said there must be something wrong with him,” Trump said.
He also seized the opportunity to take a cheap swipe at his former political opponent, saying: “Biden wouldn’t do them for months. You wouldn’t see him, and nobody said anything.”

However, Trump’s remarks didn’t prevent people from spotting something unusual about him, including an odd crease in his suit sleeve, reports the Mirror US[6]. One individual on X posted, “Strange. Fabric doesn’t normally fall like that across an arm.”
The message was accompanied by a photograph of Trump from his White House meeting. The user highlighted a mysterious protrusion under his jacket. Others speculated the bulge resulted from a padded suit; nevertheless, the original poster provided examples of padded suits to demonstrate this might not be accurate.
“People are suggesting this is a result of padded or extended shoulders,” he wrote. “Neither of these things have to do with how a sleeve falls.” Another person questioned: “Why does such a wealthy man not have well-tailored suits?” Meanwhile, a third person suggested that the bulge resulted from someone supporting the president steady moments before the photograph was captured.
The speculation emerges as a health expert reckons the president’s vascular condition could result in a potential amputation. Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), and pictures of the president’s swollen ankles and bruises have been shared online.
Dr Mimmie Kwong, associate professor of vascular surgery at the University of California, cautioned that whilst the disease affects one in three people, it can be serious if left untreated. “Typically, this happens in the legs or the arms,” said Kwong. “Veins are what bring blood flow up from the feet or the hands towards the heart.
“When they don’t work well, the blood gets stuck. This can cause pain, swelling, throbbing, aching, and in the most extreme cases, wounds or limb loss.” CVI cases range from mild to severe, and is typically seen in women and older people, said Kwong. “As the swelling gets worse, it can cause skin changes like thickening or inflammation and dryness of the skin,” she said.
“With worse disease conditions, you can develop unhealing wounds in the legs and if they get worse it could lead to amputations.”
