The Burning Man Orgy Dome is a recurring location at the yearly Burning Man[1] art and community festival in Nevada. The “Orgy Dome” has previously been described as a “sex-positive, consensual space for couples and moresomes to play,” and alternatively as a “tent with mattresses.” The internet[2] saw renewed discussions about the Orgy Dome in August 2025 after the organizers posted about a wind storm destroying the tent toward the start of Burning Man 2025, prompting various memes[3] and reactions online.
Origin
Burning Man’s Orgy Dome is run by the theme camp “and then there’s only LOVE” (ATTOL). According the ATTOL’s website, the project has been a “place of fire, fun, and passion on the playa since 2003.” The Orgy Dome is mentioned in the 2005 Burning Man theme-camp archive.
An April 18th, 2014, post on the /r/BurningMan subreddit by Redditor[4] /u/Randomburner3 recapped their experience of the Burning Man Orgy Dome from 2013, receiving over 80 upvotes and 60 comments in 11 years.
My SO is very sexually open so we decided to check out the dome and have sex there. It’s a very opening experience. No ‘orgies’ were going on, just couples having sex. In our room, we had one couple in their 20’s, another in their 30’s, another in their 40’s. It was very beautiful actually, especially the generational gaps. The act of sex is nothing to be ashamed of. Since then, we’ve had a group sex experience with others burners we camped with back home… and it’s not weird, at all, for any of us. I guess it’s not an orgy in the sense of having sex with multiple people, but it’s free in the same way that walking around naked on the playa is free. There’s nothing to be afraid of in the orgy dome, it’s a nice place with nice people, no one will force you to have sex. I definitely plan on returning next year, it’s the best place to have sex on the playa!

On August 31st, 2022, Comedian Conan O’Brien posted a tweet joking about the “Orgy Dome” at the 2022 Burning Man festival, writing, “Just got to Burning Man and it’s already a 90-minute wait for the Orgy Dome :(” The post gathered over 7,000 likes in three years.
On August 24th, 2025, the official Orgy Dome Instagram[5] posted a video showing how a strong sandstorm blew away the Orgy Dome structure, effectively ending the 2025 edition of the Orgy Dome. The video gathered over 2 million views and 13,000 likes in five days.
Several internet users reposted the news about the Burning Man Orgy Dome in the following days, as seen in an August 26th, 2025, post by X user @JebraFaushay, who wrote, “I have some bad news if you were headed to the dome later.” The post gathered over 130,000 plays and 2,000 likes in three days.

That same day, X user @adamcarolla reacted to the news that the “Orgy Dome” was blown away by a sandstorm, writing, “Next year’s Orgy Dome will be built before a single home destroyed by the Palisades fire[8].”
Also on August 26th, 2025, Redditor /u/Belichick12 posted a news article about the Orgy Dome getting destroyed to the /r/NotTheOnion subreddit, receiving over 2,000 upvotes and 260 comments in three days.
