Overview
The 2025 Minneapolis Annunciation Catholic School Shooting refers to a mass shooting event at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in late August 2025. Two students were killed alongside 14 children and three adults who were injured in the shooting, perpetrated by 23-year-old gunman Robin Westman (formerly Robert Westman), who was a former student at the school. The event sparked considerable discourse over gun violence and gun rights in America. It also sparked discussions about transgender school shooters, as Westman had formerly identified as a trans woman. Westman’s online presence was inspected by internet sleuths shortly after the news broke, who discovered a troubling YouTube channel, among other purported accounts on Reddit and Skibidi Farms. Westman’s guns and other firearm equipment were also covered in catchphrases and slogans from viral memes and internet references, among other things. Some internet users also alleged that Westman was a part of either O9A, Terrorgram or 764, which are satanic, neo-Nazi organizations operated on Telegram and Discord. Other shooters like Robert E. Crimo III and Solomon Henderson have also been linked to the organizations. Another person of note is Kyle Spitze, who was arrested in February 2024, related to a crackdown on 764.
