Honor may soon push smartphone battery limits even further than 8,000 mAh. According to a new leak from China, the company is testing a new device equipped with a gigantic 10,000 mAh battery, potentially making it a mainstream phone with the largest battery to date, even going beyond tablet batteries.
Honor Power 2
The device is rumored to debut as the Honor Power 2, a successor to the mid-range Honor Power released in April. While details remain scarce, reports indicate that the phone’s testing phase may slightly reduce the battery capacity before launch. If the full 10,000 mAh capacity remains, the model would set a new record for battery size in a commercial smartphone.
The original Honor Power comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 1224 x 2700 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a whopping 4,000-nit peak brightness, making it more than suitable for sunlight viewing.
The device runs on a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, offers 8GB or 12GB of RAM, 256GB or 512GB of storage, and includes a 50 MP main camera with OIS, a 5 MP ultrawide, and a 16 MP front camera.
Honor has not officially confirmed the new device or its launch timeline, but if rumors hold, the Power 2 could redefine the battery endurance segment.
