Cumulative sales tax revenue in Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers, and Springdale was $10.013 million in the August report, up 0.56% from a year ago. Fayetteville bucked the decline with sales tax revenue of $2.816 million, up 4.57% from a year ago.

Fayetteville outperformed last year’s data in most months. Only the April report indicated a year-over-year decline in sales tax revenue this year. For the first eight reporting months of 2025, sales tax revenue reported by Fayetteville totals $22.176 million, up 4.49% compared with a year ago.

Springdale reported the second-best results for the month against its peer cities, although sales tax revenue of $2.209 million, down 0.09% compared with the year-ago period. Like Fayetteville, the city was comparing against higher gains of 7.56% in August 2024. Through the first eight months of 2025, sales tax revenue for Springdale was $17.352 million, up 6.37% compared with the $16.312 million a year ago.

Rogers reported sales tax revenue of $2.77 million in the August report, down 0.42% from a year ago. Year-to-date, Rogers posted sales tax revenue of $20.916 million, up 2.47% compared with the $20.411 million from a year ago.

Bentonville reported sales tax revenue of $2.217 million for the month, down 2.36% from a year ago. The August report was the second consecutive month of negative results for Bentonville. The city reports total revenue through August at $16.869 million, up 0.97% compared with the $16.706 million a year ago.

The cumulative sales tax revenue for the four cities for the first eight reporting months of 2025 was $77.314 million, better than the $75.182 million during the same period in 2024.
