Google introduced two new additions to its wearable lineup alongside the Pixel 10 series: the budget-friendly Pixel Buds 2a and the Pixel Watch 4. Both products come with notable improvements in design, software, and artificial intelligence capabilities.
Pixel Buds 2a
The Pixel Buds 2a mark Google’s latest effort to bring premium features to an affordable price point. These wireless earbuds are powered by the Tensor A1 chip and, for the first time in the A-series, support active noise cancellation and transparency mode.
The earbuds are designed for comfort, shipping with four different ear tip sizes. They also offer improved voice clarity during calls and voice commands, using AI to filter out background noise in real time. Voice interactions are handled through Google’s Gemini assistant.
Another significant change is the replaceable battery in the charging case that should make repairs easier. The Pixel Buds 2a are priced at $129.99.
Pixel Watch 4
The Pixel Watch 4 introduces several upgrades over its predecessor, starting with a larger Actua 360 display that delivers 10% more screen area and 3,000 nits peak brightness. The new design also reduces bezel thickness by 16%, resulting in a curved full-screen look.
Running Wear OS 6, the smartwatch features deeper integration with Gemini AI, offering on-device smart replies, an AI health coach, and new gestures such as “raise to talk.” Users can interact with the watch without touching it, which should be helpful during workouts.
In terms of durability and long-term use, the Pixel Watch 4 is Google’s first serviceable smartwatch, featuring a replaceable screen and battery. It also introduces a standalone satellite SOS, allowing users to reach emergency services even when they have no cellular signals.
The 41mm model delivers up to 30 hours of battery life, while the 45mm model offers up to 40 hours. A redesigned charging dock allows the device to reach 50% charge in 15 minutes. Pricing starts at $349 for the Wi-Fi-only 41mm version and goes up to $499 for LTE and larger models.
