Google Pixel 10 Series Launched With Pixelsnap Magnetic Accessories and Telephoto Upgrades

Google has launched the Pixel 10 series at its Made by Google event in New York. The lineup includes the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which we will cover in a separate article.

All phones are powered by the new Tensor G5 chip and run Android 16. The vanilla model now comes with triple cameras, PixelSnap magnetic accessories support similar to Apple MagSafe, and more.

Here are the details.

Design and Display

The Pixel 10 retains a compact form factor with a 6.3-inch Actua OLED display based on LTPS technology. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate that adjusts between 60Hz and 120Hz and reaches a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and the device carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The camera bar design remains consistent with older generations, though the module now includes a telephoto sensor.

The available colors are Indigo, Frost, Lemongrass, and Obsidian.

The Pixel 10 Pro upgrades the display size to a 6.7-inch Super Actua LTPO OLED panel. This allows for dynamic refresh between 1Hz and 120Hz, improving both battery efficiency and smoothness in animation. Peak brightness reaches up to 3,300 nits. The screen is sharper than the base model, offering a higher resolution and more accurate color reproduction.

Design-wise, it follows the same rear layout but uses premium materials for a more refined finish. The pro model is offered in Porcelain, Obsidian, and Bay Blue.

The Pixel 10 Pro XL extends the screen size to 6.8 inches while retaining the LTPO OLED panel. It offers the same 1Hz–120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 3,300-nit brightness as the Pro model, but with a slightly higher resolution for large-screen users. Despite the increased size, the phone maintains an IP68 rating and Gorilla Glass protection, making it the largest and most display-focused device in the lineup. The Pixel 10 Pro XL shares the color palette with the Pro model.

Internals and Software

The Pixel 10 is powered by the new 3nm Tensor G5 processor, coupled with the Titan M2 chip for secure on-device operations. It comes with 12GB of RAM and offers 128GB and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage options. The device runs Android 16 and will receive seven years of OS and security updates, matching the Pro models in long-term software support.

The Pixel 10 Pro also runs on the Tensor G5 and Titan M2 combination, but upgrades the memory to 16GB RAM. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, providing more flexibility for users dealing with heavier workloads. The additional RAM gives the Pro model better multitasking support and enhances performance during AI tasks, including voice processing and real-time translation.

The Pixel 10 Pro XL shares the same internal specs as the Pixel 10 Pro, including the 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. However, thermal management is slightly improved due to the larger form factor. Like the other models, it launches with Android 16 and supports seven years of full update coverage. The software experience is consistent across the board, with all models gaining access to Gemini-integrated AI features.

Cameras

The Pixel 10 features a triple-camera setup for the first time in a base model. It includes a 48MP main sensor, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and a 10.8MP telephoto lens offering 5x optical zoom. This addition brings improved zoom capabilities, though the ultrawide sensor is a slight downgrade from the Pixel 9. The front-facing camera is a 10.5MP unit with autofocus, supporting clearer selfies and video calls.

The Pixel 10 Pro steps up the photography experience with a 50MP primary sensor, a 48MP ultrawide camera, and a 48MP telephoto lens with 5x zoom. The image pipeline benefits from enhanced AI processing, supporting advanced features like ProRes video, Night Sight Zoom, and astrophotography. The front camera sees a similar upgrade and provides better depth mapping for portraits.

The Pixel 10 Pro XL shares the same triple-lens system as the Pro model but leverages the larger chassis for improved thermal control during video capture. It supports all the advanced photography and video tools found in the Pixel 10 Pro, including up to 100x digital zoom through AI enhancements. Overall, the Pro XL offers the most complete imaging package in the lineup.

Battery and Pricing

The Pixel 10 comes with a 4,970 mAh battery and supports 29W wired charging and 15W wireless charging via the Qi2 standard. While it does not support reverse wireless charging, it is compatible with the new Pixelsnap magnetic accessories introduced at launch. The Pixel 10 is priced at $799 for the 128GB model and $899 for the 256GB version.

The Pixel 10 Pro has a slightly smaller 4,870 mAh battery, for some reason, but it may be able to last larger thanks to its LTPO display panel. It supports 30W wired charging and 23W wireless charging, along with reverse wireless support for charging earbuds and other accessories. The Pixel 10 Pro starts at $999 for the base variant. Storage configurations go up to 1TB.

The Pixel 10 Pro XL includes the largest battery in the series at 5,200 mAh. It supports 45W wired charging and 25W wireless charging. Like the Pro, it supports reverse charging and the full Pixelsnap ecosystem. The Pixel 10 Pro XL starts at $1,199.
