The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched a mobile app to ensure transparent and timely compensation for families affected by floods.

Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur inaugurated the Digital Disaster Compensation Management app, which was developed by the KP Information Technology Board (KPITB) and integrated into the provincial service delivery platform “Dastak.”

The initiative aims to make relief distribution fully paperless and cashless while reducing delays and minimizing risks of fraudulent claims.

App Features

The app allows flood-affected families to upload details of property losses, submit claims, and receive compensation directly into their bank accounts. The process is automated and uses geo-tagging technology to verify damages on the ground, preventing false submissions.

A real-time dashboard provides data on damages and payments to senior officials, including the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary, enabling close monitoring of relief operations.

Govt Officers Donating Salary

The provincial government has created a special fund account under the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to manage disbursements. The account will record and track every transaction, ensuring that all payments remain transparent and auditable.

To further support the fund, Chief Minister Gandapur announced the donation of his one-month salary. Cabinet ministers will contribute 15 days’ salary, MPAs seven days, Grade-17 and above officers two days, and Grade-1 to 16 government employees one day.

Relief Operations

Relief activities are underway in several affected districts, including Buner, where emergency camps have been set up. Compensation for deaths and injuries has already begun, while surveys are being conducted to assess damages to homes, businesses, livestock, and shops.

The government emphasized that cash support will replace food packages, allowing families to meet their specific needs. Verification of beneficiaries will be carried out using NADRA data to ensure that only eligible claimants receive assistance.

App Access

While the Digital Disaster Compensation Management app has been launched, it is integrated within broader government platforms rather than listed separately in app stores. Citizens can access the service through the KP Super App, developed by KPITB, which is available on the Apple App Store and may include the “Dastak” module for disaster claims.

Additionally, KPITB has a Digital Assessment Platform available on Google Play, though this version is primarily designed for field officers conducting on-site damage surveys.

For direct access, users are encouraged to visit the official KPITB website or the KP government portal for updated instructions and links.
