OG Anunoby, the Nigerian-born star of the New York Knicks, has become the latest NBA player to sign with Skechers — a brand not usually known for basketball shoes.

Skechers has recently made a big move into the basketball world, signing well-known players like Joel Embiid, Julius Randle, and Terance Mann. Now, OG Anunoby joins that list, wearing Skechers models such as the SKX NEXUS™ and SKX REIGN™ on court.

Anunoby explained why Skechers was the right choice for him:

“I play quick and low to the court. I jump and move a lot. Skechers has the shoe to keep me comfortable, keep me protected and keep me playing my best every day,” he said.

“Skechers has helped me continue to play basketball at an elite level, and I love these shoes.”

Strong Season for OG

After struggling with injuries in past seasons, OG had a brilliant year. He played 74 games, averaging 18 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.5 steals, and nearly 1 block per game.

He played a key role in helping the Knicks reach the Eastern Conference Finals, and he’s expected to be just as important in the 2025–26 season. With new signings like Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele, plus new head coach Mike Brown, the Knicks are aiming for the championship — and OG will be central to their plans.

Promoting Skechers in Europe

OG will also take part in the “Skechers Own The Court Tour” in Zadar, Croatia on July 31st. He’ll be there with Terance Mann to support a U-18 3×3 basketball tournament, meet fans, and promote the brand.

The event will take place at the famous “Greeting to the Sun” site, a popular tourist spot. Fans in Europe will get a rare chance to see NBA stars up close.

With top players like OG Anunoby backing them, Skechers is starting to gain respect in the world of basketball footwear. Their European tour will help show fans around the world that they are serious contenders in the game.
