The AI video was posted by TikToker @rachelthecatlovers in late July 2025. Many viewers did not immediately realize that the video was generated with AI and reacted to it as if it were real. When they discovered that it was AI, many shared posts about feeling tricked and used the video as an example of the first time they’d been fooled by AI video software.

On July 27th, 2025, TikToker @rachelthecatlovers posted a video of bunnies jumping on a trampoline. The video’s caption read, “Just checked the home security cam and… I think we’ve got guest performers out back! @Ring.” The video was seemingly generated with AI, in line with other videos on the TikToker’s page. Over two days, the video received over 148.8 million plays and 18 million likes (shown below).

In the video’s comment section, a TikToker named Φneas wrote, “I’m getting scammed when I’m older,” receiving over 923,000 likes in two days. Another top comment from a user named Leenie24 said, “This is the first AI that has ever got me 😭😭😭,” receiving over 436,100 likes in two days (shown below).
On July 27th, 2025, TikToker @lilmaybark posted a recording of the original video, asking their viewers, “Trying to find out if this video is #AI,” gaining over 30,000 likes in two days.
On July 28th, TikToker @crys_cut posted a video of themself touching grass with the caption, “Fell for an Al video of bunnies jumping on a trampoline. Even sent it in my family group chat. Had to touch some grass.” In a day, the video received over 2.3 million likes (shown below).
