Sediver, a Blackstone portfolio company, announced Tuesday (Aug. 12) the expansion of its manufacturing capacity in West Memphis that will create 25 new jobs. The company did not disclose its investment in the facility expansion.
The expansion will double the facility’s output capacity to support the growing demand for energy transmission line products in the United States. The company reports having more than 600 million insulators on the worldwide energy grid. Insulators protect energy lines and helps prevents the loss of electric energy as it travels through transmission lines.
“Our West Memphis facility is strategically located to serve customers across the United States, and supply the accelerating demand for Sediver’s solutions,” said Cleber Angelo, Sediver executive vice president and head of the Americas. “By manufacturing and testing power transmission line insulators locally, we bring our global expertise closer to the field, ensuring utilities can strengthen grid reliability with speed, precision, and full compliance with their standards. This capacity expansion investment will create local jobs, and reinforce Sediver’s mission to serve our customers with reliable, high-quality solutions made in the USA.”
Sediver built its manufacturing plant and a technical center of expertise in West Memphis in 2017. The company has continued to invest in the West Memphis facility, modernizing its manufacturing processes using the same technological knowledge and developments implemented in Sediver’s other insulator factories.
“This expansion underscores our dedication to delivering high-quality products with local expertise, and reinforces our mission to drive sustainable growth. We are excited about the future and the opportunities this facility brings,” said Sediver CEO Erik Göthlin.
Established in Saint-Yorre, France in 1898, Sediver has more than 90 years of experience in the insulation sector and 70 years of experience in the production of toughened glass insulators.
