Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho might be leaving Sevilla to join top Turkish club Beşiktaş, according to multiple sources.

Former Nigeria international, Dominic Iorfa, has encouraged Iheanacho to make the move. Iorfa, who played for Galatasaray in the early 1990s, said this could help Iheanacho get back to his best form.

Since moving from Leicester City to Sevilla, Iheanacho hasn’t had much playing time. He was even sent on loan to Middlesbrough.

Iorfa told Footy-Africa that Iheanacho’s career has been unstable lately, but believes Turkey could offer him a fresh start.

“Turkey would be a good place for him to show his talent. I still think he has a lot to offer. At Beşiktaş, he might start scoring goals again,” Iorfa said.

There are also signs that Iheanacho would settle in Turkey easily. His former Leicester teammate, Wilfred Ndidi, is already playing in Istanbul, along with other Nigerian players.

“If the move happens, I believe Beşiktaş fans will love him. He’s skilful, can score, and also create goals. I hope he gets the move and returns to regular football,” Iorfa added.

Beşiktaş are said to be watching Iheanacho closely. Sevilla value him at around €3 million. A move to Turkey could also mean a reunion with Ndidi, which could bring back the strong partnership they had at Leicester and in the Nigerian national team.
