Alex Hoge’s leadership and commitment to leadership and innovation have been evident throughout his 13-year career at ArcBest.
Hoge, who has a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, started his career in manufacturing, a position he held briefly. From there, he switched to being a pricing analyst for ABF Freight.
Then he decided to go a different way, which was a luxury his chosen path of industrial engineering afforded him.
Hoge switched to transportation and now leads the company’s strategy for building and optimizing key relationships with enterprise-level partners across all modes of transportation.
He and his team focus on securing strategic capacity providers, enhancing service performance and aligning carrier capabilities with ArcBest’s long-term goals.
Hoge’s career has included several management roles, and he has demonstrated deep industry and market knowledge about freight rates, developed innovative and competitive yield strategies that balance profitability with customer needs, and collaborated across departments to ensure alignment with service and financial goals.
“Most of my career has been leading people and trying to bring a positive attitude to what I’m doing here at ArcBest,” Hoge said. “I think if you enjoy the people you work with, it can make everybody’s life a little more enjoyable. I certainly try to lead that way.”
During his career, Hoge has won several internal recognitions for his contributions to the company and for his leadership.
He was recently appointed to a six-year term as a board member for the Western Arkansas Intermodal Authority. He’s actively involved in the University of Arkansas’ engineering program, working with students at various points throughout their educational journeys.
